Graeme Rooney is a Scottish comedy writer and performer known for creating smart, character-driven comedy across television, stage, and digital platforms. His work combines sharp writing, sketch experience, and a strong performance background.
✍️ Television & Sketch Comedy Writing
Graeme co-created and co-wrote the hit BBC2 sketch show The Ginge, The Geordie and The Geek, which aired after multiple sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Festival. The show became known for its fast-paced, character-based sketches and original comedy voice.
He also wrote for Comedy Central as part of the 20th Anniversary of Friends campaign, contributing short-form comedy content for a global audience.

🎭 Theatre Writing
Graeme’s debut stage play, Absolute Bowlocks!, was commissioned by Òran Mór in Glasgow as part of its renowned “A Play, A Pie and A Pint” series. Following its premiere, the play went on a Scottish tour, earning praise for its bold humour and relatable characters.
